These quickly-built stations were deployed when the Sol advance moved deeper into Genari territory: There simply was not enough time or resources (and potentially vulnerable in construction) to produce the larger Etna or Vesuvius weapons platforms. They are spread along the entire Sol defense line, keeping smaller Genari warships from entering Imperium's core shipping lanes to the main war front. They are usually built as two separate structures, supporting a light array of plasma beams.
