Briefing
This ship was built to help defeat the Sonna, and it did end up participating at the very conclusion of the Sonna war. It was to be the gamechanger -- Its new, radical design with a series of the most powerful plasma beams Benson Dynamics had produced at the time, and triple ion drives that were a leap ahead of the Sonna capital ships defending their homeworlds. But cost overruns and production delays put them into very limited combat with the Sonna. Things were about to change however, when the hostile Genari Empire initiated a new longstanding war. The Leningrad became the most common warship to lead invasion fleets into Genari regions, and won many early battles because of its technological advantage over nearly all Genari ships. The ship was also designed around the beams, with the weapons enhanced to deliver a stronger punch with an experimental built-in hypercharger. The ship is also popular amongst Russian-heritage captains for its history in the early world wars.
