Briefing

The Baltimore was the first true battlecruiser-class warship conceived as the new line of capital-class ships used both for offensive and defensive operations at the Genari border. Though its mass is relative to a heavy cruiser, it has been designed more as a battleship -- unlike its sibling, the Special Operations Exeter-class. Armed with an array of heavy plasma weaponry, it is deadly both in short and long range combat. Though few have seen action as of yet, it is considered to be a match to the more massive Nova-class Genari battleship. Some consider this as a purely military, ergonomically-designed warship, without the grace or flow in design characterized by many Sol ships. Some Admirals have called it downright 'ugly'. Whatever the case, it is a preferred ship for some of the most respected admirals of the fleet, though they tend to stay within Sol borders and as of yet have not been part of any fleets attempting to take control of Genari territory. If it does ever enter battle, however, the hull layers are so dense that Genari Marine Pods will have a hard time penetrating the ship.
