Grand Sovereign

Briefing

This ship only exists in concept and in blueprints, since none have actually been built yet. The Sovereign class battleship is considered a sufficient deterrent to any existing warship that the Sol and Genari arms race has developed so far. But the future-minded Advisors did not dismiss the possibility of a full-scale invasion attempt by their neighbors at some point in the future, especially if one of these Empires overcomes the other. If there ever came a time that one of these aggressors took a foothold into Confederation territory and risked reaching one of the core worlds, this ship would be put into development. It is twice as expensive to build as its battleship counterpart, but the engine technology is there for a dreadnought-class platform. Its entire armament would be particle beams, totaling 10 in number, with battlestation-caliber force fields. All of its weapons are also enhanced with power accelerators that increase the damage potential by 12%. If it ever does get built, it would be a magnificent thing to see on the battlefield.
