Genari United Empire - SHIP
Briefing
As the Genari-Sol arms race pushed for bigger and more powerful warships, the light cruiser still had a big role to play -- it was faster and cheaper to build, and it still could hold its ground against larger cruisers. The Guardian was becoming obsolete however, and a new light cruiser design took the battle back to its original roots. The Genari scientists were still too far away from breaking the plasma weapon technology, and heavy laser tech was approaching its limits. Instead of trying to compete with Sol for range and accuracy on weapons, this ship does what Genari like to do best: Close combat. Supporting only one heavy laser beam, its the three powerful fission warheads that deliver the real blow. The FW-6 sacrifices range for a powerful yield, and is small enough to be mounted on a destroyer-class ship. With its triple fusion drives, strong force field, and heavy armor, the ship is able to push forward and survive through enemy capital ship fire and deliver its payload, marines included. The heavy tri-wing technology also supports improved power collectors which increase the damage of the fission warheads by as much as 15%.
